Study-programmes or ‘pre-apprenticeships’ as they are sometimes called, are for 16 to 19 year olds (or up to 25 if you have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Through a Study Programme you can learn employment skills and take courses in maths and English that are directly applicable to the real world. You can start with lower grade qualifications (if gained) and develop your confidence, hands-on skills and knowledge. It’s a great option if you need more time to boost your skills.

Study Programmes take place in colleges, small training centres and some sixth forms.

And when you’re ready for employment, they may also arrange work experience that can lead to further study or an apprenticeship.

These are popular so don’t wait until results day or September! You might be able to start them at any time. Ring our careers helpline on 01785 854125 to talk through your options.
