Post 16 Education, Employment and Training Tracking Service

The Destinations Tracking Service is for schools who wish to receive their previous student’s destinations from Staffordshire County Council (SCC), Careers and Participation Service.

SCC are unable to provide individual destinations data to schools without the young person’s consent as the 2008 Education and Skills Act only covers the transfer of data from schools to Local Authorities.

To request an individual’s destination, schools are required to obtain the consent of the young person, in order for the local authority to provide destinations data back to schools.  Students can provide consent during Year 11 using the form below.  This will enable SCC to provide you with destinations information for up to two years after they have left Year 11.

Schools who join this scheme must agree to the following terms of use:

  • This service cannot be used in place of providing destinations information, and schools must still provide: offers of learning, enrolment, and actual destinations as normal.
  • School Year 11 cohorts will be confirmed in the April (September Guarantee data return) and reporting of Activity Survey data will be based on this cohort.
  • Any data provided after the Activity Survey Report, will include only young people who are resident in Staffordshire.
  • Schools must note that the Local Authority only has a statutory duty to track students for 2 years, rather than the 3 years expected of schools in Gatsby Benchmark 3.
  • Schools must still maintain their own destinations databases, in line with the requirements of Gatsby Benchmark 3, following DfE Guidance.
  • Initial data will usually be provided in the Spring Term. This will follow the reporting of the Survey to DfE by the local authority at the end of January.
  • Students (and former students) may revoke a school’s permission to obtain this data at any time by contacting the Careers and Participation Service.

If you would like to use this service, you will need to download and complete the following documents:

Individual Student Consent Form: to be completed by all students for whom you wish to receive name level data.

Student Agreement to Data Sharing Template: To indicate students who have given consent for data sharing. To be shared with the Careers and Participation Service.

Destinations Data Sharing Agreement: To be signed to confirm the above documents and actions have been agreed. To be shared with the Careers and Participation Service.

The Student Agreement to Data Sharing Template and the Destinations Data Sharing Agreement should be shared with [email protected] via secure file transfer.  A secure file transfer account will be created for you upon contacting us regarding this service.
