The Quality in Careers Standard is the nationally recognised careers quality award for education providers. The Standard is “strongly recommended” by, and fully complies with, the Department for Education’s ”statutory guidance”.

Staffordshire County Council Careers and Participation Team are one of eleven licensed awarding bodies nationally for the Quality in Careers Standard.

The Quality in Careers Standard provides schools and colleges with a clear framework to ensure they:

  • Achieve the Quality in Careers Standard accreditation criteria.
  • the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance.
  • Meet DfE Statutory Duties for careers
  • Support you to be better prepared for Ofsted
  • Raise the standard of CEIAG across your organisation
  • Provide you with the nationally recognised externally assessed award for quality CEIAG

Successful achievement of the Quality in Careers Award gives schools and colleges impartial, external evidence about the quality and impact of their careers provision, inspiring students and teachers to be ambitious and aspirational in their careers planning.
