Summary

ATC Drivetrain is looking for a Machine Shop Apprentice to help maintain jigs, fixtures, and tooling across the business. You'll assist in designing and manufacturing special-purpose tools and equipment for use in the UK, US, and China, gaining practical experience with lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.

In this job role you will:

  • Use equipment such as lathes, drillers, grinding, welding and CAD equipment to manufacture and component required by department
  • Assisting with maintaining tools, jigs, fixtures and equipment
  • Assist with the manufacture and assembly of special purpose machinery 
  • Assisting with the manufacture of new tools, jigs and fixtures
  • Use various engineering materials: Mild steel to EN19, Aluminium, Phosphor Bronze, Copper, Nylon, Plastic
  • Train others if required
  • Work in a team
  • Complete relevant paperwork, route cards and daily check sheets
  • Keep work area clean and tidy

  • You will be required to attend In-Comm Training 12 Vigo Pl, Aldridge, Walsall WS9 8UG 2 and a half days per week for the first 14 months
