ATC Drivetrain is looking for a Machine Shop Apprentice to help maintain jigs, fixtures, and tooling across the business. You'll assist in designing and manufacturing special-purpose tools and equipment for use in the UK, US, and China, gaining practical experience with lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.
In this job role you will:
- Use equipment such as lathes, drillers, grinding, welding and CAD equipment to manufacture and component required by department
- Assisting with maintaining tools, jigs, fixtures and equipment
- Assist with the manufacture and assembly of special purpose machinery
- Assisting with the manufacture of new tools, jigs and fixtures
- Use various engineering materials: Mild steel to EN19, Aluminium, Phosphor Bronze, Copper, Nylon, Plastic
- Train others if required
- Work in a team
- Complete relevant paperwork, route cards and daily check sheets
- Keep work area clean and tidy
