The Careers and Participation Service is part of Staffordshire County Council. We provide a service to help young people make positive decisions about their learning options and support them with practical activities including making applications, writing CVs and interview preparation.

We work with young people in Staffordshire aged 15-19 who at risk of not participating in learning, and young people post-statutory school age to 19 not in education, employment, or training (NEET). We support these young people to engage in education or training and signpost to Apprenticeships and employment with training opportunities.

The Careers and Participation Service also support young people aged 19 to 25 with a maintained Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) if they are at risk of NEET or NEET.

In addition to the above, we offer a range of traded careers guidance services to schools and colleges to help them meet the Gatsby benchmarks. Our level 6 qualified careers advisers deliver effective careers guidance interventions to young people to motivate and enable them to achieve their full potential.

The Careers and Participation Service is one of 11 licensed awarding bodies for the Quality in Careers Standard. We can provide consultancy and assessment for any schools wishing to work towards and achieve The Standard.
